Rocky Schenck

I'm totally blown away by the quality and atmosphere in Rocky Schenck's work. Astounding and awe-inspiring fine art black and white printing, his images appear both film-noirish and surreal.

Holga Photoshop action

Image: © Sophia Marcey

I love holgas and their classic vignetting. I haven't bought one yet; perhaps it's the fear of burning through hundreds of rolls of films before I get one shot that hasn't been hideously underexposed.

Anyhow, I will buy one soon but until then I've been using a Photoshop Holga effect plugin. Cheating you ask? Yes... l know. But its' still fun nonetheless and you can get some interesting effects. Smaragd  at flickr has kindly shared it here.

Dave McKean

Dave Mckean has to be one of my favourite artists. His new movie "Mirrormask" is out in the cinemas now. I wonder if it still retains that macabre and fantastical charm that his images have.
